I am self-taught and work mainly in oils.

In the early 1990's I saw the film 'Gorillas in the Mist' and this touched my soul in such a deep way that I felt I had to try and do something to help. I  contacted the 'Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund' and offered my paintings as a way of raising both money and awareness.

The first gorilla painting I did entitled 'Here today' sold immediately and I have donated others since.

I have dabbled with various mediums over the years, but always come back to Oils. I am the same with subjects; whatever else I paint I will always come back to wildlife and if my paintings can benefit the animals I love, so much the better.
