I was born in Sheffield in 1940 and moved to the Hull area in 1968. From 1986-88 I took and passed two ‘O’ Levels and one ‘A’ level (all Art). I obtained a distinction in ‘Beyond A Level’ in 1990.

In 1995 I joined Beverley Art Club.  Since retiring four years ago, I have more time for painting and I am now going to Bishop Burton College for further painting instruction. My subjects vary but I have a preference for landscapes and wildlife pictures. I like using oils for landscapes and sometimes pastels. Acrylics and water colours seem to work best for the flowers and wildlife subjects.

I have been with PAWS since my first entry in 1992. I have received three highly commended certificates in that time and this is the fifth time I have been selected as a finalist - the others being in 1992, 1995, 1998 and 2002. I feel it has done me good.
